Ok. I admit it. One of the best things about the job I do is the fact that I get to play with toys for a living.
I’m not talking about the stuffed, fluffy variety. I’m talking about the sleek, shiny type of toys that geeks like me go weak at the knees over. Laptops, DSLRs, GoPros, software, hardware – you name it, I love it.
With this in mine, today I was in Hog’s Heaven as I took my son, and a bunch of other close friends and family to the Gadget Show Live at the NEC in Birmingham. For those of you not in the know, it’s a huge exhibition centre that this week is crammed with some of the best tech out there. We spent the day playing computer games, running around the laser tag arena, talking to games designers and watching some mind-blowing new gear being demoed by the guys from the C5 show.
My only regret is that I left it too long before I decided to buy a remote control helicopter with HD camera that is linked to your iPad. By the time I’d talked myself into spending lots of cash, they’d sold out! Still, that’s always a good excuse to go again next year 🙂
