From jelly and ice cream to knuckle sandwiches

Today has been a good day.

We spent a great time with Paul & his family at Martha’s first birthday party – the weather was kind for one of the first times this summer!

From there, I left to go to help film at the ‘Pain Pit’ MMA event at Newport Centre. Our friends at Red Slate Films cover cage fighting across the region & Scott is looking to put together a showreel to promote their services. What else can a friend do but help out? Well, what an eye opener – all I can say is I am very glad I was stood outside the cage, not inside. Some very agile, mean and tough guys spent time bashing each other around, with a large crowd cheering them on.

There were plenty of cameras present tonight, as well as Scott filming the fights & me filming Scott, Week In Week Out were doing a piece for TV too. So chances are I’ll be on tele soon (look out for the guy by the cage trying to avoid getting covered in blood, sweat & tears!).

Another experience to add to the list of things my wonderful job allows me to see.
